A new Avianca’s LifeMiles buy miles promotion has just landed, this time as a Cyber Week promotion.
Buy LifeMiles With A 160% Bonus
Through December 2, 2022, the LifeMiles program is offering up to a 160% bonus when purchasing miles. With this promotion, members are able to purchase:
- Purchase between 1,000 to 20,000 miles and get a 140% bonus
- Purchase between 21,000 to 50,000 miles and get a 150% bonus
- Purchase between 51,000 to 200,000 miles and get a 160% bonus
To buy LifeMiles with bonuses, members have to log in to their LifeMiles account and proceed to the buy miles page.
How Much Does LifeMiles Cost
LifeMiles usually cost US$33 per 1,000 miles and with the current promotion, you can receive up to 520,000 miles for US$6,600 which is around US$0.0126 per mile. This has so far been the best value since December last year so I would recommend you buy miles during this promotion.
The LifeMiles must be purchased in increments of 1,000 and you can buy up to 200,000 miles per calendar year before any possible bonuses.
Redeeming LifeMiles
Avianca belongs to Star Alliance and its frequent flyer program, LifeMiles is one of my favorite airline programs to redeem miles and I frequently use them to redeem on flights. And unlike Aeroplan or MileagePlus, the best feature of this program is that it charges no fuel surcharges when redeeming awards on Star Alliance partners.
Paying US$6,600 for 520,000 miles might be costly but given that a one-way flight from Asia to Europe in first class costs 102,000 miles or Asia to the US for 99,000, you can book first and business class tickets with a fraction of the regular cost.
