A week ago, I have posted Qatar Airways Holidays is offering double Avios on flight and hotel booking. Today, Rocketmiles is having a promotion where Qatar Airways Privilege Club members can earn 3,000 Avios by booking a stay before 5 September 2022 through Rocketmiles. The terms and conditions did not specify the stay period instead they just stated the deadline for reservation only.
What is Rocketmiles
Rocketmiles is an Online Travel Agent under Booking Holdings, allowing us to book accommodations worldwide and earn miles to our preferred loyalty programs. Currently, Rocketmiles partnered with 37 airline frequent flyer programs to earn miles on eligible hotel stays.
Usually, the hotel rates are similar to the Best Flexible Rates on hotel websites but sometimes it will cost a little more due to the commission system. Nevertheless, you can earn miles and credit that you can either redeem for flights or exchange as a coupon.
Booking Hotels through Rocketmiles
The booking process is quite a straightforward process, just like booking through hotel platforms or third-party booking websites such as Booking.com.
First, head off to Rocketmiles website and search for the destinations, dates and number of guests you would like to stay with. Next, on the side of the location search, you have to choose one of the 46 partners where you would like to receive your miles or credit.
Make sure to use this link to book to be eligible for the 3,000 bonus Avios. This promotional offer cannot be applied to existing bookings or retroactively applied to bookings not made using the link above and it is limited to once per stay.
Next, after searching cities and the dates, you can choose a hotel. For example, I have searched hotels in Doha and AlRayyan Hotel offered 9,000 Avios which includes the 3,000 bonus Avios. Qatar Airways sells Avios for 0.035 cents each for this hotel, you are able to earn more than US$55 cheaper. You can even earn an extra 1,000 Avios on the payments page for US$30.
Of course, the Avios earned varies by the rate of the hotel that’s why searching for the maximum Avios value is always better when there are such promotions. The catch is some cheaper hotels sold on Rocketmiles offer more miles than luxury hotels.
When Will the Avios Post on the Account
The Avios will generally post onto your Privilege Club account 14 days after the check-out date. Yes, it takes some time for the miles to credit but I had no issues with the miles not being credited on my account.
Member Benefits at the Hotel
Unfortunately, booking through Rocketmiles are considered third-party bookings so if you hold memberships in the hotel rewards program, those benefits will not be reflected. But the decision lies with the hotel management. If you are lucky, the hotel might offer you upgrades or other perks.
