Avianca’s LifeMiles program constantly publishes great promotions when buying miles or even with its travel partners. And a week ago, LifeMiles and Booking.com launched an offer that allows members to earn double miles.
Earn 4 LifeMiles With Booking.com
Through December 22, 2022, Lifemiles members who book a hotel stay from the booking.com website will be able to earn 4 miles per US$1 spent. Generally, Lifemiles members received 2 miles per dollar but this has doubled during the promotion.
To take advantage of this offer, members must book through Booking.com´s dedicated website to earn LifeMiles. Be aware if you access the regular booking.com website, you won’t be eligible to earn a single mile.
How To Book Through Booking.com
Once you access the booking.com website from the LifeMiles link above, you’ll notice a banner that says “In partnership with Lifemiles.” Then you are at the right website.
Then, the following process is straightforward. Search the city and date of stay and there will be a list of hotels shown with the amount of Lifemiles that will be earned on that stay.
Then right before confirming the booking page, there is a table to let you input your Lifemiles membership number. And that will be all set for you.
All miles earned will be posted within 10 weeks after checking out and only the hotel’s base fare excluding the taxes will be eligible for the promotion.
Is Earning LifeMiles Through Booking.com Best Option?
Personally, I would say no. I would rather earn hotel points directly to the hotel’s rewards program and later transfer the points to airline programs. For example, LifeMiles is a transfer partner of IHG One Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy and you could transfer points at a better rate while also collecting stays on the hotel program as well.
LifeMiles also has a website called ‘Lifemiles hotels‘ where you can earn much more miles when booking from there.
On this website, members earn 1,000 LifeMiles and elite members earn up to 1,200 which is double the amount that you earn from booking.com even with the promotion.
So this double miles promotion with booking.com offers an even weaker earning rate compared to LifeMiles Hotels booking.
Summary
Through December 22, 2022, LifeMiles is offering double miles promotion on booking.com stays where members will earn 4 miles instead of 2 per dollar spent. Normally, I wouldn’t book my hotel stays from third-party travel websites, and even with the promotion, it earns much lesser than booking from LifeMiles Hotels website.
