The Home & Villas by Marriott launched a promotion to all Bonvoy members, offering bonus points when staying two or more nights on home rentals.
What Is Home & Villas By Marriott Bonvoy
Before I go over the details of the promotion, I will explain a little about what is Marriott Bonvoy’s Home & Villas. You may be familiar with St. Regis or Ritz Carlton or even Element properties that are under the Marriott brands but many are not familiar with their vacation home rental brand.
Launched in 2019, Homes & Villas by Marriott is an exclusive brand for professionally managed properties under the Marriott group. The brand offers over 2,000 rental homes in over 100 destinations. If you are familiar with Airbnb then you can think these are luxury versions of Airbnb.
The Home & Villas has a separate website for reservations although search results may sometimes be found on the main Marriott Bony booking platform.
There is even an interactive map where the vacation homes are located for ease of booking.
Check-in on these properties is usually contactless and processed through a lockbox code, like Airbnb. The codes are sent through email after reservation along with information about the house by the house manager.
Home & Villas By Marriott Bonvoy Offering Double Points On Stays
Between December 5, 2022, through December 19, 2022, Home & Villas By Marriott is offering double points on whole home rental stays completed by March 31, 2022.
Although registration is not required to get double points, you would need to stay a minimum of two or more consecutive nights spent at the same property. Furthermore, the Home & Villas has a base earning rate of 5 points per US$1 spent. Bonvoy elite members will still be eligible to earn bonus points. With the promotion, Bonvoy members will instead earn 10 points per US$1 dollar spent.
Also, there are additional terms and conditions for this offer that are:
- Award redemption with points redemption for a portion of, or the entire stay is not eligible for the promotion.
- Points will be credited to your account between three and six weeks after the completion of the stay.
- Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.
Home & Villas By Marriott Bonvoy Rates
The rates at rental homes vary differently based on size and location. Some of the cheapest rates I can find start around US$50 while the most expensive properties cost more than US$5,000 per night.
Redeeming Marriott Bonvoy Points At Home & Villas
Unlike the regular Marriott Bonvoy redemption which has both full redemption and cash & points, redeeming home rentals has fixed cash & points of 0.6 cents per point. It is similar to Radisson’s new rewards program redemption, where you can use points to cover the room rates.
Summary
Through December 19, 2022, Home & Villas by Marriott is offering double points on stays completed by March 31, 2023. There is no registration required however a minimum of two-night rule applies as two nights is the standard rule when booking home rentals.
It is the holiday season and if you plan to travel with your family to one of Home & Villas by Marriott, it will be your opportunity to earn extra points.
