Hilton Honors is back again with a promotion on purchased points. From August 2, 2022, to September 18, members purchasing Hilton Honors points will earn double points.
Hilton Honors members purchasing more than 5,000 points will receive 10,000 points as double points offer.
Maximum Number of Points for Purchase
Hilton Honors members can purchase up to 160,000 points per calendar year excluding applicable bonuses. But with the double points offered, members can earn up to 320,000 points.
Cost of Hilton Honors Points
Hilton Honors points cost US$10 for 1,000 points and can be purchased in 1,000 points increments.
I value Hilton Honors points at 0.5 cents per point, so this is a great offer to purchase 320,000 points at a great rate.
The points purchased will generally take 48 hours to be posted to the account.
Redeeming Hilton Honors Points
You can redeem Hilton Honors points over 18 brands across 119 countries, with more than 6,800 properties. Hilton Honors doesn’t publish an award chart until now but the brand uses dynamic award pricing.
Points vary by destination, date of travel, and season but generally, it starts from 5,000 points up to 1 million points on some properties such as Waldorf Astoria Maldives. I have found some sample rates on Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, Waldorf Astoria Maldives and Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport respectively.
Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is bookable with 76,000 points per night and with 320,000, you can stay up to 4 nights.
While Bangkok has relatively reasonable redemption rates, it does not do well for Waldorf Astoria Maldives. Here, the points spike up to 1.2 million points to redeem. But as I mentioned above, this is due to dynamic pricing and from time to time this property has a rate that goes as low as 150,000 points per night.
If you are thinking of a budget stay, there are great Hilton properties that require only 5,000 points per night. And with 320,000 points, you can stay up to 60 nights with half of the revenue rate.
