IHG One Rewards: Fast Track To Elite Status In 2023

IHG One Rewards: Fast Track To Elite Status In 2023

This year, IHG One Rewards is back with its status challenge offer. IHG had been consistently offering status challenges throughout last year and this will likely be the first challenge opportunity for this year.

With this challenge, when completed, members can keep the tier until the end of 2024.

Stay 2 nights to earn Gold Elite

Between February 1, 2023, through April 30, 2023, members who register for the Gold Elite status challenge will need to stay 2 nights to be a Gold Elite member through the end of December 2024.

Stay 5 nights to earn Platinum Elite

Similarly, members who register for the Platinum Elite status challenge program, and stay 5 nights at any IHG properties, will be automatically upgraded to the Platinum Elite tier through December 2024.

This is quite a straightforward challenge that requires you to stay as much as 5 nights. And for this promotion, there are some terms and conditions:

  • Registration is mandatory.
  • The “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays” must be with a room rate exceeding US$30 for each night.

Unfortunately, there is still no Diamond Elite tier status challenge offered. We will have to wait and see if the program will announce one this year.

IHG One Rewards Tiers

For context, IHG One Rewards has four tier levels with the Club as its basic tier up to Diamond Elite, its highest tier.

Generally, the Platinum Elite tier can be achieved pretty easily. If you enroll in Intercontinental’s Ambassador program by paying US$200 or redeeming 40,000 points, you will be automatically entitled to be a Platinum Elite member.

Summary

IHG One Rewards is offering a status challenge through April 30, 2023. Members can choose either to challenge the Gold or Platinum tier by only staying 2 or 5 nights by the status matching period. The tier achieved through the status challenge will be valid until the end of next year.
