Lifemiles is having another buy miles promotion. Through Friday, 12 August 2022, the Avianca LifeMiles program is offering a bonus on purchased miles. With the bonus offer, you can:
- Purchase between 1,000 to 20,000 miles and get a 125% bonus
- Purchase between 21,000 to 50,000 miles and get a 135% bonus
- Purchase between 51,000 to 200,000 miles and get a 145% bonus
Miles must be purchased in increments of 1,000 for US$33 and you can buy up to 200,000 miles before any possible bonuses with a rate of 1.32 cents per mile.

Avianca Lifemiles is the frequent flyer program of Avianca Airlines. and it is one of my favorite Star Alliance programs to redeem miles on First and Business class on partner airlines. Lifemiles charges no fuel surcharges on all Star Alliance airlines and it offers interactive options to redeem an award ticket.
Although it is less recommended to credit miles to be Star Alliance elite through the Lifemiles program, buying miles is definitely recommended as it allows you to get a premium seat with deeply discounted cash fare. For example, you can redeem one-way First Class from the US to Europe just for US$560.

While there are numerous advantages to redeeming, Lifemiles is also notorious for its customer support. The reservations department is so difficult to deal with if you need to call an award in by phone. Sometimes it takes hours to reach and settle the booking. There are also high award changes and cancellation fees.
