The Avianca LifeMiles has just launched the latest buy miles promotion and you might find it useful for your next award redemptions. This week has been particularly a week with a few buy miles promotions which include Aeroplan and Flying Blue.
Buy LifeMiles With A 150% Bonus
Through April 26, 2023, the LifeMiles program is offering up to a 150% bonus when purchasing miles. With this promotion, members are able to receive bonus miles in tiers:
- Purchase between 1,000 to 20,000 miles and get a 130% bonus
- Purchase between 21,000 to 50,000 miles and get a 140% bonus
- Purchase between 51,000 to 200,000 miles and get a 150% bonus
To buy LifeMiles with bonuses, you have to log in to your LifeMiles account and proceed to the buy miles page.
How Many Miles Can You Purchase
The LifeMiles must be purchased in increments of 1,000 and you can buy up to 200,000 miles per calendar year before any possible bonuses.
How Much Does LifeMiles Cost
LifeMiles usually cost US$33 per 1,000 miles and with the current promotion, you can receive up to 500,000 miles for US$6,600 which is around 1.32 cents per mile.
I wouldn’t say this is a bad offer but it is not the best value considering LifeMiles’s past bonus offer. So I would recommend you buy miles during this promotion if you have specific travel plans in mind.
Redeeming LifeMiles
The LifeMiles program is one of my favorite airline programs to redeem miles and I frequently use them to redeem on flights. And unlike Aeroplan or MileagePlus, the best feature of this program is that it charges no fuel surcharges when redeeming awards on Star Alliance partners.
Paying US$6,600 for 510,000 miles might be costly but given that there are award sweet spots on some destinations, for example, Asia to Europe in first class costs 102,000 miles or Asia to the US for 99,000 miles, you can book first and business class tickets with a fraction of the regular cost.
While Singapore Airlines does not open First Class awards, you can also redeem a short-haul First Class on Singapore Airlines and Asiana Airlines Business Class from Seoul to Jakarta for 33,000 miles if you want to take a glimpse of the service.

Through April 26, 2023, Avianca’s LifeMiles is offering a bonus of up to 150% when buying miles where you can buy miles at 1.32 cents per mile. This offer does not offer the highest redemption rate per mile so if you only have specific travel plans in mind, I would take advantage of the offer.
