LifeMiles is once again back with an interesting promotion on purchased miles and rebates when redeeming. So it seems like there are two different offers, but technically, it is a combined promotion.

Through September 29, 2022, members purchasing LifeMiles will receive up to a 120% bonus. Here are the bonus offerings on miles purchased:
- Purchase between 1,000 to 20,000 miles and get a 100% bonus
- Purchase between 21,000 to 50,000 miles and get a 110% bonus
- Purchase between 51,000 to 200,000 miles and get a 120% bonus
Compared to the previous promotion where members could receive up to 140% in bonus when purchasing miles, this time it offers only up to 120%. So Purchasing 200,000 miles will land you a total of 440,000 miles.
The LifeMiles must be purchased in increments of 1,000 and you can buy up to 200,000 miles per calendar year before any possible bonuses.
How Much Does LifeMiles Cost
LifeMiles cost US$33 per 1,000 miles and with the current promotion, you can receive up to 440,000 miles for US$6,600 which is around 1.5 cents per mile.

Purchasing 440,000 miles for US$6,600 is a little loss for us as some past promotions offered up to 160% in bonuses. But this time, there is one unique offer that follows behind the bonus.
LifeMiles Rebate on Redemptions
On this purchased miles promotion, LifeMiles has added an interesting extra feature. From September 21 thru September 28, 2022, when buying miles with this offer, members will receive 10% miles back on the next award redemption.
Here are further details about the rebate:
- The award redemptions must be made from September 21st through October 21st, 2022 while the date of departure is flexible.
- The rebate is calculated on the first award redemption in one transaction.
- If redeeming more than one award ticket, the 10% rebate applies to the main member who purchased the miles.
- The rebated miles will be posted to the member’s LifeMiles account within 15 business days.
To take advantage of the rebates, you don’t have to purchase the whole hundred thousand miles but the minimum 1,000 miles are enough to take part in the offer. It is based on redeeming on top of your existing LifeMiles balance and 1,000 miles is just to take part.

Redeeming LifeMiles on Partner Airlines
LifeMiles is one of my favorite frequent flyer programs to redeem seats in first and business class although its customer service department is known to be notorious.
For example, one way from South Asia to Europe in First Class costs 102,000 miles and with the promotion, you’ll receive 10,200 miles back after redeeming the flight.
What’s attractive with LifeMiles is that it doesn’t have a fuel surcharge. I frequently redeem miles with Air Canada’s Aeroplan program as it allows complex itineraries but when I’m short of miles, I usually monitor the best purchase miles promotion and buy miles to redeem for flights.

Summary
LifeMiles today revealed a very unique promotion where members who purchase miles and redeem an award ticket, will receive 10% of the redemption credited back to the account.
While there is a limit on purchasing miles, there is no restriction on the number of miles needed to get the rebate.
As long as miles have been bought, whether it is 1,000 or 200,000, the rebate will be applied from the total amount of miles redeemed.
