Back in October 2022, the Lufthansa Group revealed its brand new first and business class products as part of the “Allegris” product generation. And yesterday, the airline announced details about the new seats which also include a product we never expected.
Brand New Lufthansa First Class Suite
The new first class products will be introduced in 2024, on Airbus A350s. Moreover, the B747s will also be retrofitted in the future (There is still no firm or confirmed plan). The A350 will be configured into 267 seats: 4 first class suites, 38 business class(including 8 suites), 24 premium economy and 201 standard economy class seats.
The First Class Suite features ceiling-high walls and an entirely closable door and nearly one-meter-wide seats that can be converted into a fully flat bed. There will also be a personal wardrobe in addition to the storage spaces available in each suite.
For dining, similar to the current first class, passengers can dine together with an ottoman. Entertainment is provided by screens that extend across the full width of the suite, with Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones.

Lufthansa Reveals Brand New First Class Suite Plus
Now there is another surprise Lufthansa unveiled at yesterday’s event in Berlin. Not only the new first class will feature a suite but there will be another product called”First Class Suite Plus.”

This exclusive suite will be located in the middle of the first class and will be a double cabin configured. While the general seat details are similar to the new suite, the Suite Plus seats will feature two wide seats that can be combined into a comfortable double bed. Similar products can be found in Singapore airlines or Etihad.
The ceiling high doors are actually thick curtain material that has magnets to attach them together. You can think of the sliding door version of Air France La Premiere curtains.

Having two seats in the suite, four people can enjoy the dining as well. It should be fun when you are traveling as four and make the whole first class cabin yours.
Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa described:
“Every guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity. The First Class Suite Plus conveys the feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room – only at an altitude of eleven kilometers.”
The Suite Plus seats are definitely huge and will be amazing for passengers traveling as a couple. The airline had not yet mentioned how the pricing of this seat will be so we would have to wait for that for the time being.
Here are some of the full-scale mockups.
The first class Suite Plus will also be installed on the upcoming Airbus A350 delivery which will roll out in 2024. The newly debuted A350s will be based in Munich in addition to the A340s and A380s which are once again returning this summer.
Summary
Lufthansa made a surprising revelation of its brand new First Class Suite Plus cabin which offers a double seat that can fit two passengers. The new suite will be debuting on the A350s which will be delivered next year.
This surely is a great improvement for the airline and passenger experience compared to the current open seats, however, we would need to wait and see how the pricing and award availability of the suite goes.
