Meet The New JetBlue TrueBlue Program Coming In 2023

A couple of months ago, JetBlue sent an email to its TrueBlue frequent flyer program members citing there will be changes to the TrueBlue program coming soon. And yesterday, the airline officially announced the changes with more tiers and benefits.

Details Of The New JetBlue TrueBlue Program

JetBlue’s TrueBlue program has introduced a new way to earn Mosaic status, called Tiles.

The Tiles are a new system to track the progress toward Mosaic status and unlock perks along the way. So how do members earn Tiles?

With the new TrueBlue program, members will earn tiles for qualifying spending on JetBlue, JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, extras and fees, American Airlines flights and all JetBlue credit cards.

  • On JetBlue, JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, many extras and fees, American Airlines – 1 tile for every $100
  • On all JetBlue credit cards – 1 tile for every $1000

The earning points system has not been affected by the new program and will be earned at current rates.

The changes to the new program will launch in the spring of 2023 but starting January 1, 2023, JetBlue will be tracking the qualifying spending behind the scenes as tiles until the new program officially launches.

TrueBlue’s New Mosaic Tiers

Up until now, JetBlue only had one tier on its TrueBlue program: The Mosaic. But from now on, there will be four tiers:

  • Mosaic 1
  • Mosaic 2
  • Mosaic 3
  • Mosaic 4

I will further go into details of each tier and benefits below.

TrueBlue Mosaic 1

The Mosaic 1 is an entry-level tier that can be earned when reaching 50 Tiles. This means you have to spend at least US$5,000 on flights or US$50,000 on JetBlue credit cards. The benefits of Mosaic 1 are:

  • The first 2 checked bags free
  • Free inflight alcoholic drinks
  • Even More Space at check-in
  • Same-day flight change with no fee or fare difference
  • Mosaic boarding
  • Priority security
  • Priority check-in
  • 24/7 dedicated Mosaic customer support chat and phone lines
  • Complimentary Heathrow Express upgrade from Express to Business First (based on availability)

TrueBlue Mosaic 2

Mosaic 2 is the second-level tier that can be achieved by earning 100 Tiles. For this tier, you have to spend US$10,000 on Jetblue flights or US100,000 on JetBlue credit cards. The benefits of Mosaic 2 are:

  • All the benefits of Mosaic 1 and
  • Even More Space for booking

TrueBlue Mosaic 3

Mosaic 3 is the third-level tier that can be achieved by earning 150 Tiles where you have to spend US$15,000 on JetBlue flights or spend US$150,000 on JetBlue credit cards. The benefits of Mosaic 3 are:

  • All of Mosaic 2 benefits plus
  • Four Mint upgrade certificates

Mint upgrade certificates are a great benefit but JetBlue has clearly specified the number of certificates required to upgrade. The terms and conditions only mentioned that the number of certificates required to upgrade may vary based on the flight date and time.

TrueBlue Mosaic 4

Mosaic 4 is the top-tier status that can be achieved by earning 250 Tiles. This means spending US$25,000 on JetBlue flights or US$250,000 on JetBlue credit cards. The benefits of Mosaic 4 are:

  • All of Mosaic 3 benefits plus
  • 4 one-way BLADE Airport helicopter transfers between Manhattan and JFK or EWR
  • Two additional Mint upgrade certificates

TrueBlue Perks You Pick

A Perks You Pick is a reward option for non-Mosaic elites when they reach certain thresholds. non-elites now can choose their first perk when they reach 10 tiles and when reaching 20, 30 and 40 tiles. Once reaching 50 tiles, members will enjoy Mosaic status and even more perks. These perks are:

  • Early boarding
  • Priority security
  • A free first beer, wine or liquor on each flight
  • 2X points bonus on a JetBlue Vacations package
  • 5,000 bonus points

Mosaic Perks You Pick

Furthermore, Mosaic members, similar to non-elite Perks You Pick, are able to choose one perk when they pass the status threshold called “Mosaic Perks You Pick.” The perks include:

  • FoundersCard Blue membership
  • Pet fee waiver
  • $99 one-time statement credit for JetBlue Plus or Business Card
  • 20 bonus tiles
  • 15,000 bonus points
  • Mint Suite Priority, a priority access to Mint Suite selection on select aircraft excluding Mint Studio

Earning TrueBlue Points

As I mentioned above, there will be no changes to the TrueBlue points earned. Depending on the fare options, members can earn up to 3 Mosaic-Qualifying base points per eligible $1 spent and double the TrueBlue points when booking on jetblue.com or the JetBlue app.

Mosaic or JetBlue Plus cardmembers could earn up to 15 TrueBlue points per $1.

Summary

JetBlue has officially announced the details of its new frequent flyer program. The new program will feature four new Mosaic tiers which can be earned by collecting Tiles with customized rewards when reaching each tier.

Moreover, Jetblue will now allow non-elite members to choose rewards when they reach a certain Tiles threshold. This is a great move from the airline to allow every member, whether elites or non-elites to pick up perks.
