Qatar Airways Privilege Club uses Avios as its currency and while it is relatively rare to find ‘regular’ awards on Qatar Airways Business and First Class, I have found some great sweet spots on select routes.
Qatar Airways Regular vs Double Avios Award
The Privilege Club program offers excellent award pricing when traveling on Qatar Airways but at the same time, it is also hard to find those regular award seats due to heavy demand. There are two types of award options when it comes to redeeming:
- Regular awards
- Double Avios awards
Most of the time the Privilege Club program allows all members to redeem awards at double Avios regardless of the date. However, the catch is that you would need to pay double the usual award price.
Thankfully, I have found some regular Avios awards from Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Here are some one-way Business and First Class deals you can take advantage of. Most of the dates I have found were between July thru December 2023. You might need to select the whole month view to find one by one if you are planning to book an award.
Keep in mind that the below award pricing is based on the Privilege Club Platinum tier which receives a 5% discount on award redemption. I have added the 5% on each route.

Qatar Airways Avios Redemption Terms & Conditions
The award tickets have the same terms and conditions that are applied to every class however based on the Privilege Club tiers, you may or may not be entitled to penalty fees.
For award booking changes or cancellations for more than 24 hours prior to departure:
- Burgundy & Silver – $25 fee
- Gold & Platinum – Free
For award booking changes or cancellations between 3 hours and 24 hours before departure:
- Burgundy & Silver – $100 fee
- Gold & Platinum – Free
For award booking changes or cancellations within 3 hours or after departure:
- For all member tiers, only eligible airport and government taxes are to be refunded. Avios and fees are forfeited.
If you are a Gold or Platinum member, you can pay for award fees using your reward benefit, Qcredits as well.
It is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack when it comes to finding regular Avios rewards on Qatar Airways Privilege Club since their award opening is very inconsistent.
Ways To Earn Qatar Airways Avios
Qatar Airways recently adopted Avios as its mileage currency from Qmiles and thanks to this move, you are able to earn Avios more broadly and with more options. You can also transfer Avios between British Airways Executive Club or Iberia Plus accounts without any fees.
You can also buy Avios from British Airways, Iberia and Qatar Airways as they offer bonuses from time to time.’
