Another exciting promotion from Qatar Airways is out today. This time you can earn double Avios when traveling on Iberia to all destinations served by Iberia.
Last week, Qatar Airways had a double Avios offer when booking through Qatar Airways Holidays. On this Iberia double Avios promotion, you can book your flights either from Qatar Airways or Iberia websites (Marketed as QR or IB) and travel on Iberia-operated flights.
The booking period starts from 15 August thru 30 November and the travel must commence between 1 September thru 30 November.
Make sure you quote your Privilege Club number at the time of booking or check-in to receive double Avios for your flight with Iberia. The terms and condition is listed below:
Iberia is Spain’s flagship airline and the leading carrier between Europe and Latin America. It joined the Oneworld alliance in 1999.
In 2011, British Airways and Iberia merged to form International Airlines Group or IAG, which now has eight subsidiaries between the UK and Spain. IAG is also the holder of Avios that’s why both British Airways and Iberia use Avios as their frequent flyer loyalty currency.
I have flown Iberia on European routes frequently and I have not experienced any problems yet. Furthermore, Iberia has gorgeous premium lounges at Madrid Barajas Airport.
From its Madrid hub, Iberia flies to almost 120 destinations in 45 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America. Iberia is a choice airline when traveling to Spanish territories, Central and South America.
Aside from Iberia, the company also has a subsidiary called Iberia Express which mainly focuses on intra-European destinations.
Redeeming Qatar Airways Avios:
Avios earned by flying Iberia will be credited to the Qatar Airways Privilege Club account. So how can you redeem it?
Qatar Airways doesn’t have its own award chart instead, it uses an Avios mileage calculator on its own flights which functions as a distance-based award chart.
To redeem Qatar Airways Avios on partner airlines, you can check the number of required Avios below:
Qatar Airways website doesn’t have a partner award booking platform so you’ll have to access your Privilege Club account and go to the ”Write to Us” page and manually input the flight details.
Another way (Faster than submitting an online request) is to book partner awards by calling the customer service centers.
Since Qatar Airways, British Airways and Iberia all use Avios as mileage currency, you can also transfer Avios between accounts to book award flights that require lesser redemption rates or taxes.
Again, Qatar Airways is offering another generous double Avios promotion when flying on Iberia. If you frequently fly to cities in Europe or the Americas with Iberia, this is an opportunity to earn miles into your account.
I have to emphasize that you MUST travel on Iberia-operated aircraft to be eligible for this promotion. So don’t make a mistake flying on Qatar Airways.
