Post-Pandemic Stay At Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit

A few months ago, I stayed at Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit when I entered Thailand under Test and Go Program. It was a one-night quarantine on a designated floor in the hotel. This time, I wasn’t here in a quarantine program hence I will briefly go over the differences between the now abolished quarantine room and a regular room featured. Other than that I will not go over much about this hotel as I reviewed the hotel in my older post.

About Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit:

Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit is located right in the heart of Bangkok in the Sukhumvit area. It is 4 minutes away from BTS Skytrain “Phrom Phong” station and malls. With 222 rooms and suites available, it is an ideal place to rest and recharge.

Booking Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit:

Prior to moving to Hyatt Place, Mrs. White and I were staying at the Park Hyatt Bangkok. We were deciding either to extend the stay at Park Hyatt, hop to other Hyatt properties around Bangkok or move back to Marriott hotels nearby. In the end, we chose Hyatt Place to further rack up elite night credits to retain my tier as I had enough nights for my Marriott Bonvoy to requalify.

I booked the Standard Room with Sofa Bed using Points + Cash rate which I redeemed only 5000 points and 2500 Thai Baht or US$68 for two night’s stay. The best thing about redeeming points at Hyatt Place is that complimentary breakfast is offered.

Checking-In At Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit:

The check-in desk is located on the L(Lobby) floor. As usual, I did an online check-in through my Hyatt app, and after quick paperwork and payment, we received our room key. On the first night, the rooms and suites were full so an upgrade was impossible but on the second day, the staff managed to upgrade me to a View King Room.

Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit Standard Room (With Sofa Bed):

The Standard “Quarantine” Room and the non-quarantine room have one big difference: The floor carpet. In the quarantine room, there was no wool carpet instead a rubber wood flooring was installed. This was to easily disinfect the room after the quarantined guest left the room.

On the first day, we were assigned to room 1706 where the in-room amenities and furniture were the same as in the quarantine room.

Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit View King Room (With Sofa Bed):

On the second day, we got upgraded and moved to room 2705 which had a stunning Bangkok landscape. The View King Room is slightly larger than the Standard room with 28sqm or 300sqft in size. These rooms are located 20th floor and above for the best view of Bangkok city in either floor-to-ceiling windows or a large window depending on the position of the room.

The cozy View King Room features a king-size bed, a corner sofa bed, a separate workspace, and a wide bathroom with a walk-in shower. As you can see, the basic layout of the room is the same as the Standard Rooms.

Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit The Market:

During my quarantine stay, three meals were packed and delivered to the room so this was our first time trying out the breakfast in Hyatt Place.

Breakfast and a variety of freshly prepared grab-‘n’-go food items such as sandwiches, salads and snacks, as well as bottled drinks and baked goods are available at The Market which is more of a pantry-style concept rather than a restaurant.

The breakfast buffet ranges from pastries to live egg stations but as to the number of guests, the menu depletes really fast it took time for the staff to refill the buffet. I would recommend you to go for breakfast early morning if you don’t want to line up and wait.

Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit AIRE BAR:

On the 28th floor rooftop, AIRE BAR overlooks the Bangkok skyline. The bar offers all-day dining, wines and cocktails. I have not yet visited the bar but it is definitely a place to capture great sunrise or sunset views of Bangkok along with a sip of liquors.

For those who prefer staying indoors, there is a small bar just right beside the check-in desk. In this bar, only drinks are served. The bar was closed on my last visit but they are back open now.

It is my third time staying at the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit and I somehow experienced the hotel service pre-pandemic, during the pandemic, and post-pandemic. There are noticeable changes over time but the hotel is still loved by many Hyatt loyalists with its great rates and services.
