United Airlines MileagePlus Removes Redeposit Fees

United Airlines MileagePlus Removes Redeposit Fees

United Airlines MileagePlus program has announced major changes to its program when it comes to achieving Premium status qualifications today. But that is not all, United has also removed redeposit fees on award tickets.

United Airlines MileagePlus Redeposit Fees No Longer In Effect

As of today, the redeposit fees on award tickets are removed completely allowing MileagePlus members to flexibly book and cancel without mileage redeposit fees.

Until now, United charged its members up to US$125 for mileage to be redeposited to their MileagePlus accounts when canceling the tickets within 30 days of the travel date. Of course, the fees exist when redepositing miles after a no-show but I am hoping no one will be doing a no-show.

United Airlines, although was the last to get rid of mileage redeposit fees, now the three major airlines in the US have zero redeposit fees. This will give more freedom to MileagePlus members to book and change their tickets if there are schedule changes.

Summary

As of today, United Airlines MileagePlus program has removed its award redeposit fees permanently. This will be great for us since we are able to have flexible options to book without paying a penalty.
