Virgin Australia just launched an interesting promotion called the “Middle Seat Lottery.” As you can assume from the name, passengers who fly and a seat in the middle seats are entitled to win some amazing prizes.

Most passengers prefer to be seated either in the window or the aisle avoiding the middle seats. But Virgin Australia created an idea what if the middle seats are a wonderful seat too?
That is why the airline created the Middle Seat Lottery. It turns the middle seat into a chance to win wonderful prizes, like Velocity Platinum Status and a million Points, Caribbean cruises with Virgin Voyages including return flights to the US, or even custom artwork by an Australian artist.
How To Enter Virgin Australia’s Middle Seat Lottery
The lottery competition starts on October 24, 2022, and ends on April 23, 2023. To participate in this lottery, you have to fulfill the following conditions:
- You must be an Australian resident.
- A Velocity frequent flyer membership number is required.
- You need to have sat in a middle seat, as shown on your boarding pass.
When you fulfill all the above three requirements, open the Virgin Australia mobile app and tap the Middle Seat Lottery section to find the flight and enter your details.
Each time you are flying in a middle seat, you’ll be eligible for another entry into that week’s draw. Winners will be notified by email with instructions on how to claim their prize. There are no specific requirements on which flight you must take so flying short-haul flights on the middle seats are still eligible for entry.
26 Prizes To Be Won
Virgin Australia is updating weekly prizes starting this week through April 23, 2023. On this week (October 24 ~ October 30), the winner will receive flights to the USA for a Virgin Voyages 6-night cruise.
Partnering up with United Airlines, the lucky winner will fly on United’s premium economy class from Sydney or Melbourne to Miami or return on Virgin Australia’s economy class if the winner does not reside in Sydney or Melbourne.
And for next week’s (October 31 ~ November 6) prize, the winner will receive a Platinum Status upgrade and a million Velocity Points. One million Velocity Points will allow you to fly at least 7 business class flights on Qatar Airways from Australia all the way to Europe or the US. So this is quite a large number of points to redeem.

For the next 26 weeks, there will be 26 lucky winners and the details of upcoming prizes will be announced on Virgin Australia’s website. So if you are flying in the middle seat, don’t forget to enter the lottery.
